She sat on the porch swing, watching the fireflies dance in the twilight. The air was thick with the scent of honeysuckle, and the gentle breeze caressed her skin. She had spent the afternoon baking, the aroma of cookies filling her home. Now, she simply enjoyed the quiet solitude, a feeling that settled over her like a warm blanket. She was looking forward to nothing more than a quiet evening.

Then, her phone buzzed, shattering the serenity. It was her brother. "Hey, things have fallen apart, I’m so sorry. Cancelling the whole thing!"

Her breath hitched. The fireflies seemed less magical. She pushed herself off the swing.
